Our Biomass Boiler
As part of our on-going commitment to ensure we manufacture our product in an environmentally responsible manner we have recently invested in a Talbott Biomass Boiler to provide carbon neutral heat for our facility at Macclesfield.
The existing fossil fuel heating requirement will be significantly reduced, as will our carbon footprint. We have a policy in place to ensure we minimise the amount of waste we produce from our processes and that any residues are recycled in a sensible manner.
The biomass boiler will utilise our wood waste residues to provide our on-site heating requirements which will in turn reduce the amount of waste going to landfill. In comparison to natural gas, heating the 300kW Talbott Biomass Boiler will reduce our carbon footprint for heating alone by a massive 118 tonnes of CO2 per year. In addition to the reduction of waste going to landfill, the associated transport and labour costs are also reduced.
On-site recycling of waste, added to the waste reduction programmes already in place, proves that good environmental practice makes sound economic sense.
