Helping create positive outcomes for our future workforce

By broadstock, 07/09/2016 - 16:11

With all UK universities focusing on getting ready for their new intake of students, Broadstock have been working hard to ensure that many of our flagship establishments can meet the high expectations of our future workforce. Refurbishing existing facilities and furnishing new buildings to support the end game of increasing student satisfaction across all aspects of their HE experience.

At The Spark, Southampton Solent University we have led the way in future learning strategy by installing furniture which has seen the opening of the first building of its kind to dedicate 84% of its classroom space to non-traditional teaching, creating environments which will be utilised outside traditional teaching time.

For the Vijay Patel Building which brings together all the creative disciplines at De Montfort University we have built a strong working relationship and utilised our expertise to fully understand the building creating space design which promote cross pollination of ideas cross discipline. Providing a solution which meets both the aesthetic aspirations and practical requirements of the building, the team at De Montfort hope this investment will ultimately show improvements across all outcomes.

Dealing with complex requirements has always been something we take in our stride. Our designs for the new library at Birmingham University encompass a multitude of user requirements and also take advantage of the architectural features of the building. Encompassing a mix of spaces tailored to the way students learn; areas tailored to the needs of postgraduates and specific disciplines, plus traditional office space and adaptable areas designed to ensure optimum space utilisation. It will see many of the existing libraries brought together creating a true hub for the campus.

Back to back projects at Leeds University mean we will refurnish office and teaching space across 6 floors of the Worsley Building, as well as implementing a full refurbishment of their iconic landmark, the Edward Boyle Library. Our design team have created space plans appropriate to each environment and on the Worsley project, home to the Medical and Dental Schools, a complicated rolling installation is fully utilising the experience and expertise of our project management, delivery and installation teams.

With even more exciting projects in the pipeline, we are looking forward to a busy end to 2016.
